Serena Braide is a premium fragrance brand focused on delivering a refined luxury experience through digital commerce. The project involved designing a complete end-to-end e-commerce ecosystem that balances elegant brand storytelling with seamless purchasing and operational efficiency.
The scope covered both the customer-facing storefront and a comprehensive admin management system, creating a unified experience across shopping, payments, inventory, and order management.
The Challenge
Luxury perfume brands often struggle to balance aesthetics with usability. Many fragrance e-commerce experiences prioritize visuals while creating friction in navigation, product discovery, checkout, or mobile responsiveness.
The challenge was to design a platform that could:
Communicate the sophistication of the Serena Braide brand
Simplify product discovery and purchasing
Reduce friction across checkout and payment flows
Support operational efficiency through an intuitive admin system
Create a scalable structure for future product and business growth
Design a modern luxury e-commerce experience that makes fragrance discovery and purchasing effortless while providing the business with a scalable backend system for inventory, order, and customer management.

Research & Discovery
The process began with competitive analysis across luxury fragrance brands and modern e-commerce platforms. The research identified recurring friction points including:
Complicated checkout experiences
Weak mobile optimization
Poor product discoverability
Overly cluttered navigation systems
Limited backend usability for store management
These findings informed the platform structure, interaction flows, and content hierarchy.
Design Focus Areas
1. Luxury Without Friction
The interface was designed to feel premium without sacrificing usability. Clean spacing, restrained hierarchy, and intentional product presentation helped create a more refined browsing experience.
2. Product Discovery
Search, categorization, and product layouts were structured to help users quickly explore fragrances without cognitive overload.
3. Operational Simplicity
The admin experience focused on making complex tasks like inventory updates, order management, and customer tracking more manageable through clearer workflows and system organization.
4. Mobile-First Commerce
Given the high percentage of mobile commerce traffic, the experience was optimized for smaller screens with simplified navigation, responsive layouts, and touch-friendly interactions.
